- Portable On Demand Storage units for Registered Independent Student Organizations (student clubs) and campus organizations to utilize and store their equipment, such as tents, tables, chairs, sports utilities, etc.
- A new bus shelter to keep bus travelers comfortable and secure as well as to provide pedestrians with protection from the natural elements year after year
- A campus shuttle to encourage students to explore the local community, enjoy the stores, theaters, restaurants, and other entertainment during the intermission of classes
Initiatives
Each senator is committed to working on specific interests that address student concerns. See initiatives below.

Ryan Sommer – Co-curricular Transcript
As student body President, it is my job to be the bridge between the administration and the students. It has always been my pleasure to facilitate the Senates needs to complete their initiatives to ensure their success in serving the student body.
I am currently working with the administration to develop a running program to track student involvement in clubs, event planning, service learning, and advocacy. The hope is that upon completion of the program, students will have access to an official co-curricular transcript. This transcript is a great complement to your resume and academic transcript when applying to colleges/universities, prospective employers, or scholarship committees.

Brieana Williams - Child Care Program
My initiative this semester centered on child care programs. I am currently in the process of designing a temporary child care program that will coordinate with the DOE. The hope is to provide a temporary and short-term day care program for children of our students during times which those children have breaks that do not coordinate with our college campus breaks.

Joyleanne Santos - ASUHWO Transparency and Coffee Shop
As our Secretary, I am in charge of document transparency and record keeping. My Senate initiative is to keep our asuhwo.com website updated and for all pertinent information from our Senate to be documented in a transparent and open manner for all of our students to access easily and consistently.
Currently, there is no coffee being served on campus, so I am working with Shane Nishimura to get a coffee cart on campus, which will hopefully lead to a coffee shop.

Shane Nishimura - Intramural Sports and Coffee Shop
As a member of the senate, I have been working on developing our schools intramural program, ImWest. Of its many goals of, the ImWest Intramural and Recreational Sports Program strives to increase student life though outdoor activities and sports. ImWest is currently participating in ImLeeSports Intramural Sports League where our students create teams to compete with other colleges in the UH system. Feel free to contact imwest@hawaii.edu if you are interested in participating the league or if you want to be part of our Development team.
This semester, our students have expressed a growing desire for coffee. As part of our initiative for this semester, ASUHWO Secretary Joy Santos and I are working accommodating that need. We are aiming towards finding a vendor that can provide a coffee cart for our students and faculty members. Please feel free to contact either Joy or I if you have any input or would like to help out!

Isaiah Baclaan - Texts.com and Lending Library
As a senator I have been working on a program called Texts.com that allows students the ability to post books that they are done with online and sell them to other UH West Oahu students! Texts.com also gives you the option to buy books from other students for a bargain! This service is an on going program so please feel free to join with our school for free and save money on textbooks!
This semester I am taking up new initiatives such as working on bringing a lending library service here to our campus. This service would allow students to borrow much needed textbooks that your professors may ask for that are expensive. I am also collaborating with people to see if this campus could get more in person/hybrid classes instead of online classes.
I hope to keep you updated with my initiatives and look forward to working for the benefit of the students and community of our university!

Eric Kang - ASUHWO Clothing Rack and ASUHWO Tax Service
As a member of the Senate, I have been working on the ASUHWO Clothing Rack to provide business attire for students to use during job interviews, as well as to increase advocacy on student affairs, enhance student development, and promote ASUHWO. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in donating business attire or are further interested in this new service.
This semester, I am starting a new initiative called "ASUHWO Tax Service", which will help students/individuals prepare simple tax returns and accommodate tax filing needs for our UHWO students. I will look into Leeward community college's tax services and talk to accounting majors as I start-up this initiative for Spring 2015.

George Kalantzis - Sustainability Practices on Campus
As Senator-at-Large, my initiative this semester will be centered around applying sustainability practices on campus. Through focusing on the trees around campus, my initiative will invest in watering technology that is proactive in water conservation. Since our campus is located in a dry area, conserving water in our landscaping practices just makes sense. This will reduce the overall utilities cost of UHWO and bring the topic of conservation to the students in an easy to understand format.

Sara Perry - ASUHWO Awareness, Legislative Advocacy, and MORE!
My initiative for Fall 2014 was to introduce you to our ASUHWO Senate by posting our photos and current events in all the classrooms. I am trying to make our student government more recognizable and accessible to our student body at large. I have posted meeting schedules, constituency meeting information, and other pertinent student government news. I fondly encourage all students to be aware of and take part in their student government, if only by being cognizant of what is going on, and when. Involved students make for a more vibrant student community!
For Spring 2015, I am working on a Legislative agenda. I have helped author two Legislative Bills, HB 552 and SB 636, which will add one more student and two faculty members to our UH Board of Regents. I am currently following their progress in our state Legislature and educating students on the Legislative process. Should you have any questions regarding this, please contact me and I can bring you up to date.
This Spring, I am also working on updating the student body on the status of our solar panels, having custom benches made as a gift from ASUHWO for our hale dedication ceremony, and training student leaders on successful transitioning processes from one student government (or RISO) to the next.
