Spring 2020 ASUHWO Awards

nominations are now closed

During this time of uncertainty in the world, we would still like to acknowledge and recognize those in our community who deserve recognition for their work at UHWO.  We have two medals from ASUHWO, the Volunteerism Medal and Appreciation Medal.  Nominate yourself, or someone you know that is deserving.  Deadline for nominations is April 17, 2020.

Nominations are now closed.  Award recipients will be notified in the coming weeks. 
 
Volunteerism Medal
The Volunteerism Medal recognizes those members of the Associated Students of University of Hawaiʻi-West Oʻahu who perform substantial volunteer service to the campus and the local community above and beyond the duties required as a member of the Associated Students of the University of Hawaiʻi-West Oʻahu. Such volunteer service must be made in a sustained and direct nature towards the university or the community, must be significant in nature to produce tangible results. 
  • Nominee must be a student who is a members of ASUHWO (i.e., students who have paid their UHWO student govenment fees)
 
Appreciation Medal
The recipient of the Appreciation Medal must have attained supremacy in an area encompassed by any one of the missions of student government, but is not required to have an association with the student government. The Appreciation Medal will therefore recognize individuals who have made outstanding personal contributions in areas linked with the student’s governments mission.
  • Nominee may be anyone at UHWO (i.e., students, faculty/staff, etc.)
